Description

"Portrait Marie Leszczynska Queen Of France Louis XV XVIII Magnificent 18th century portrait of Marie LESZCZYNSKA or LEZINSKA, Queen of France and wife of King LOUIS XV.

This superb portrait is "in its own way", with its original gilded wooden frame. Old restorations are present (see photos). The chassis is also original.

Dimension with frame: 17,7" x 14,5" Dimension without frame: 15,7" x 12,7"

It is beautifully represented with its precious jewels, its red velvet dress embellished with stones and embroideries and its coat of ermine and blue velvet embroidered with flowers of lilies. Marie Lezinska is the daughter of the king of Poland, born in 1703. She married Louis XV in 1725, she was 22 years old and he only 15 years old. They will have 10 children. She is the grandmother of the last 3 kings of France: Louis XVI, Louis XVIII and Charles X. She died at Versailles in 1768. She was the protector of the arts, a great lover of music and painting: she brought to Versailles artists such as the Farinelli castra in 1737 and the young Mozart in 1764.

I make a very reasonable price for this charming and rare painting, indeed the portraits of this queen are very unusual.

The photos are taken in natural light."
