Description
Model przedstawia drobnicowiec typu B-54. Były to pierwsze, duże polskie drobnicowce o napędzie motorowym, nazywane często „dziesięciotysięcznikami” z powodu ich nośności wynoszącej 10 000 DWT. Był to udany typ statku zaprojektowanego w kraju, spośród 41 statków zbudowanych w kilku wersjach 21 jednostek pływało pod polską banderą (większość powstała w Stoczni Gdańskiej); reszta statków została sprzedana do ZSRR, CHRL, Francji, Indonezji, Kuby, Szwajcarii, Czechosłowacji. Pierwszy prototypowy statek typu B-54 „Marceli Nowotko” został zwodowany w Stoczni Gdańskiej w listopadzie 1955 r. „Dziesięciotysięczniki” pływały głównie na liniach dalekowschodniej i australijskiej.
