Description
She's dressed all in plain white (which was not a usual fashion at the time) in order to express a neo-classical aesthetic, but the pattern of her clothes is according to the prevailing unclassicized 18th-century silhouette of corseted torso above full skirts.

Thence by descent until sold through Thos. Agnew and Colnaghi, London, to the current owner in 1976.
