Description

Ге Николай Николаевич. Портрет Евдокии Николаевны Костычевой, рожд. Фокиной (1845-около 1915) с сыном Сергеем Павловичем (1877-1931), впоследствии академиком биохимии и микробиологии. Ок. 1880. Холст, масло. 85 х 57.

В 1880-1890 годы Ге обратился к жанру портрета. Моделями художника чаще всего были его родные и друзья. С семьей ученого-почвоведа Павла Андреевича Костычева Ге связывали теплые дружеские отношения. На портрете изобажена жена П.А. Костычева Евдокия Николаевна Костычева, урожденная Фокина (1845-около 1915) с сыном Сергеем Павловичем (1877-1931), впоследствии академиком биохимии и микробиологии.
