Description
English: 1942 photograph of carpenter at work on Douglas Dam, Tennessee (built by the Tennessee Valley Authority). Encyclopedic both as a document of carpentry during that era and as a historic example of early color photography. Supersaturation was popular in the United States during that era; a fine example of the esthetics of its place and time.
Deutsch: Aufnahme aus dem Jahr 1942 von einem Zimmermann bei der Arbeit in Douglas Dam, Tennessee; sowohl als Beispiel der zeitgenössischen Zimmerei als auch Farbfotografie enzyklopädisch. Farbübersättigungen waren damals eine übliche Praxis, wodurch das Bild ein ansehnliches Beispiel der Schönheit des Zeitgeistes und Ortes zu seiner Zeit ist.
