Photograph mounted in a trompe l'oeil printed frame decorated with cherubs with flowery garlands in a cloudy sky. Set in a gilded wood frame (51.0 x 37.5 cm) in the Louis XVI style. Provenance - Collection of Elisabeth de Riquet de Caraman-Chimay, Countess Greffulhe (1860-1952); Elaine Greffulhe, duchess of Guiche then duchess of Gramont (1882-1958); by descent to de Gramont family; subsequently part of the François Lepage collection (1930-2022) and at present in the collection of M.J. Waterloo, Amsterdam, The Netherlands (2023).
