Description
English: The Piraeus Lion from Ancient Greece. The marble statue stands since 1688 outside the Arsenal of Venice (Arsenale di Venezia), but is today replaced by a copy. The lion has som parts with runic inscriptions, possibly from the 11th century.
Svenska: Pireuslejonet från det antika Grekland. Marmorstatyn står sedan 1688 utanför Arsenalen i Venedig, Italien, men är idag ersatt av en kopia. Lejonet har några partier med runristning, möjligen från 1000-talet.
