Deutsch: Beschreibung: Verkündung des deutschen Bürgerlichen Gesetzbuchs (BGB) im Reichsgesetzblatt (RGBl.) am 24. August 1896:
„Wir Wilhelm, von Gottes Gnaden Deutscher Kaiser, König von Preußen etc. verordnen im Namen des Reichs, nach erfolgter Zustimmung des Bundesraths und des Reichstags, was folgt: [...]“
English: Description: Publication of the German Civil Code in the Reich Law Gazette on August 24, 1896:
„We, Wilhelm, by the grace of God, German Emperor, King of Prussia etc., do ordain in the name of the German Empire, the same having been passed by the Bundesrath and the Reichstag, as follows: [...]“
