Description
La pintura representa al Conquistador de Chile. Fue encargado al pintor español por la colectividad de ese país residente en Chile, al cumplirse el Cuarto Centenario de la fundación de Santiago. En el costado izquierdo tiene una nota que dice “Creo que así fue Pedro de Valdivia”. Zuloaga, de gran precio internacional, se especializó en temas costumbristas castellanos y fue un retratista de renombre.
