Description
English: Woodcut. Early self-portrait of Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita. His first self-portrait dates from 1896, the second from 1898. This self-portrait from 1900 is the third in row. Until his deportation to Auschwitz in 1944, Mesquita very regularly made self-portraits, either as a woodcut, an etching or a drawing.
