Português: Este quadro, bem como "Santa Luzia e Santa Ágata" (Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga), provem da ermida lisboeta do Paraíso. Duas outras pinturas que hoje se encontram no Museu de Posen, na Polónia ("Santa Apolónia e Santa Inês" e "Santa Catarina e Santa Bárbara"), com idêntico formato e composição, foram compradas em Lisboa no ano de 1844 pelo Conde Atanazy Raczynski, tendo pertencido à Galeria do Marquês de Penalva. Carl Justi atribuíu este conjunto a Velascus e José de Figueiredo, aludindo às pinturas de Posen, menciona o nome de Cristóvão de Figueiredo. Luís Reis-Santos lançou a hipótese de as quatro pinturas terem constituído as predelas do retábulo "do Paraíso" [Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga] atribuído a Gregório Lopes. Vítor Serrão (in catálogo da exposição No Tempo das Feitorias) subscreve a opinião de Reis-Santos, integrando-os na obra de Gregório Lopes. |
