Description

Airmail stamp of Yemen (Kingdom); 1968; airmail stamp of the series "American an European Masterpieces - Paintings".; Depicted as stamp motive is the painting "Senora Sebaca Garcia" by Francisco José de Goya (1746.1828). This artwork was created in 1806-1811 (otherr catalogue: 1804) in the style of the genre-painting of the 19th century. This is a great topic at Goya, because Goya was in Madrid as Napoleon's troups invaded in Spain in 1808. Goya has always again painted portraits of different persons of the Spanish upper and middle class in different styles.
