Stamp of the United Arab Emirates - Emirate Fujeira; 1972; commemorative stamp of the series "Nude paintings" with a depiction of the painting "Venus, Cupid and a satyr" (english title, German "Jupiter and Antiope" by Antonio da Correggio (1489-1534) (on the stamp is noted that this painting is created by Titian, but that is not true).; Antiope was in the original old-Greek mythology the (very) beautiful daughter of the Boetian river God "Asopus"; in the old Greek mythology the beautiful daughter of the King "Nycteus of Thebes" (Homer).; The satyr is the highest Greek God "Zeus" which created with Antiope the both twins "Zethos" and "Amphion" (Cyprin).; Correggio (full name: "Antonio Allegri da Correggio") created this painting in 1528 (other catalogue: between 1523 and 1528) in the style of the Italian Renaissance with baroque tendencies.; Corregio is seen as one of the masters of the Chiaroscuro (which is charcterized among others by a strong contrast between light and dark).; This painting is contemporary located in the "Musée du Louvre" in Paris (France).; This stamp is one of the so-called "Dunes issues".; stamp postmarked by CTO.
