English: So-called Portrait of Victor Amadeus II of Savoy (1666-1732), but is probably a depiction of his eldest son Victor Amadeus, Prince of Piedmont (1699-1715)
  • A previous identification of the sitter made by the museum is retaken based on the comparison with a portrait of the Prince of Piedmont (see image below) and the lack of physical resemblance of the sitter of this portrait to representations of Victor Amadeus II at young age.
Italiano: "Nell'inventario del 1966 non viene identificato il soggetto; ancora nel 1971 viene genericamente definito "ritratto di giovane principe sabaudo", mentre nel 1985 viene identificato con" Vittorio Amedeo, figlio primogenito di Vittorio Amedeo II". Possiamo invece riconoscere il soggetto del dipinto in Vittorio Amedeo II. Sempre nell'inventario del 1966 non viene segnato il vecchio numero di inventario, impedendo così la ricostruzione della catena inventariale. Il personaggio indossa il collare dell'Ordine della SS. ma Annunziata"
