Português: O retábulo "do Paraíso", assim designado uma vez que provém do altar-mor do extinto Convento do Paraíso em Lisboa, foi já objecto de alguns estudos que resultaram em opiniões diversas e divergentes no que toca à sua autoria. Num primeiro momento, o conjunto foi atribuído a Grão Vasco (Vasco Fernandes), por Taborda e Cirilo, opinião refutada por Raczynski que propôs o nome de Abram Prim (Primus). Carl Justi apontou como autor o pintor Velascus e Émile Bartaux dividiu a série em dois conjuntos, atribuindo a "Anunciação", a "Visitação" e a "Natividade" a Cristóvão de Figueiredo, e os restantes painéis ao "Mestre do Retábulo de Santiago". Foi, porém, José de Figueiredo quem reagropou novamente as oito pinturas e as enquadrou na obra do "Mestre do Paraíso", no que foi secundado por Reinaldo dos Santos. A Myron Malkiel-Jirmounsky, coube alertar para o facto de estarmos na presença de uma obra colectiva e não de um só pintor. Actualmente, e na esteira deste último historiador, ainda que se destaque o nome de Gregório Lopes na atribuição deste conjunto retabular, não há dúvida em se afirmar que se trata de uma obra de parceria, o que é desde logo visível na heterogeneidade pictórica e técnica das várias tábuas que o compõem.
