Description
Dansk: Johanne Louise Heiberg var sin tids største skuespillerinde og hun bestemte suværent sin positur og påklædning på billedet. Da kjolemoden skiftede, fik hun efter Marstrands død Carl Bloch til at ændre maleriet, så den blev forlænget og fik et lille slæb. En kopi af billedet, malet af Frants Henningsen, hænger på det Kongelige Teater.
English: Johanne Louise Heiberg was the leading Danish actress of her day, and she dictated her posture and dress in the portrait. After Marstrand had died, the fashion of women's gowns changed, and she summoned the painter Carl Bloch to alter the length of her skirt on the painting. A copy of this work, made by Frants Henningsen, is situated at the Royal Danish Theater in Copenhagen.
