Description
English (en): Worldwide laws regarding same-sex intercourse/freedom of expression and association

Rings indicate areas where local judges have granted/denied marriages or imposed the death penalty in a jurisdiction where that is not otherwise the law and/or areas with a case-by-case application.
1Legislation may be pending. Some jurisdictions also have other types of partnerships.
2In some jurisdictions, such as Egypt, homosexuality is not technically illegal, but people are imprisoned under broad interpretation of decency or morality laws; Iraq is also de facto illegal. In others, such as Sudan, anal sex may be illegal but oral sex legal, for both same- and opposite-sex couples. UAE has death penalty, but disagreement as to what is it intended for; not used as a threat against consensual sex. In Indonesia, homosexuality is illegal only in one single autonomous province (Aceh), but this info is yet to be updated in the ILGA's state sponsored homophobia.
