Crediting East718 for this image

[edit]

The upload of East718 was overwritten by other users. So it now a must to retain the description of this crediting this user as the author of this image? Hindustanilanguage (talk) 10:49, 29 August 2012 (UTC).[reply]

D'Angelos is now using a derivative of this image on their company T-Shirts ... Soap (talk) 21:00, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
But to answer the question better ... yes, it is, because the newer uploads are just minor touchups, and I'd say that 99% of people wouldn't even be able to tell the difference. This image has long since escaped to the wider Internet, but we still should credit the author when we can. Soap (talk) 22:25, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Did East718 actually make this image? That's surprising to me because I read that the Awesome Face / Epic Smiley was made from a different source. Excerpt from the 'Know Your Meme' article:

According to Chris Ainsworth of the gaming blog Driph, the Awesome Face was part of a series of emoticons designed and illustrated for the Pokemon-related web forum Pokemopolis. He claims to have contacted the creator of the image...

This seems like a more accurate person (group) to credit for the image.  Xan ✨ talk 22:37, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
