Origin

[edit]

@Hanooz Hi, thank you for your correction! I thought that this was a photograph and copy-pasted the description from w:fa:امیرکبیر, which claims this was a photograph first published by Ettela'at and its author is unknown (their reference is incomplete). I can see "میرمصور" signature is visible in this file just like the colored version (File:Portrait of Amir Kabir - Hossein Arjangi (Mir Mosavvar) - Golestan Palace.jpg). I'm not sure, but it seems there are slight differences between them (like the face, or maybe it seems so because of colors?). I found a high-resolution version and uploaded it (File:Amir Kabir holding the scroll with his right hand and the hilt with his left hand and while standing (IICHS).jpg) but the signature part is torn apart. Do you have any information about the origin? Is the black and white file just a copy of MirMosavvar's painting? Thank you for your time and for your great contributions. Hi. Thanks. Just like you I noticed the painter's signature. Maybe there are two versions of the painting like many other paintings or maybe I'm wrong. Hanooz 20:54, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Hanooz. Thank you. I have another question. I also noticed that 1835/1836 painting File:Mirza Taqi Khan Amir-i Qabir (6125046000).jpg is somewhat similar to File:Ettelaat 13541206 (page 9).jpg (the pose, uniform, etc.) and there is a possibility that the painter was copying from the photograph. The painter clearly says it depicts Amir Kabir, but w:fa:امیرکبیر (without a source) says the photograph shows Mohammad Ghassem Khan Vali (which looks legit, comparing to File:Mohammad Qasem Khan Vali.jpg). I am really confused. Do you know anything about the painting? HeminKurdistan (talk) 06:08, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately not. I'll let you know if I find anything. Hanooz 13:20, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
