Source is essential for PD claims...please provide a valid source by removing the source tag.....Captain......Tälk tö me.. 17:38, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I must say, you are gaming policies against the spirit of policies (same tactics you tried at ml.wp before you get renamed here). I am sure that you know this image is a popular Ravi Varma Picture and so in PD (because you are Indian). I know that people not familiar with Indian origin images may feel you are right but I think deleting images like this ultimately no good for the project. If you really want to contribute, find source informations. For this image, I added some.--Praveen:talk 18:07, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you have a picture that is PD-Art, source is not essential, so long as we are positive it actually is PD-Art.--Prosfilaes (talk) 04:04, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Right, but it was not PD-Art at the time of tag..Diff ...Captain......Tälk tö me.. 08:23, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So you agree it is now. Are you trying to eliminate media that is useful here? Seems very deletionist to me (& I am one) --Herby talk thyme 15:31, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have no response on your's experience, but i believe adding a source tag will benefit, as somebody will find a source and keep update it so that it can remain for ever...that's happened here...Captain......Tälk tö me.. 15:38, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What will happen to the file if nobody added any source information? If you really want to protect files available here, add source informations instead of recommending deletion. Thanks--Praveen:talk 17:59, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It is your responsiblity when you upload a file to properly label the license and source. There are many, many copyright infringments in Commons; it is a good thing to go through and appropriately nominate files that look like copyright infringments for deletion.--Prosfilaes (talk) 23:50, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
File was uploaded by someone else.--Praveen:talk 02:18, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If the file was uploaded by someone else, he need to provide the source, or if you get disturbed with the tag you also can add, and you 'cannot' tell the nominator to provide source.....Captain......Tälk tö me.. 14:44, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes it is more easy to add source of a pd-art file. Nominating a PD file is no contribution. Thanks--Praveen:talk 12:14, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Nominating a PD file is no contribution - Now its you...gaming against policies, try to be with the policies, if someone tag the image then only outside world will know about its problem and will be solved, keep on discouraging a person who tagged this file is against the spirit of the project.....Captain......Tälk tö me.. 13:28, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So you are agreeing that you were intentionally gaming the policies :) (From here:"Now its you...gaming against policies"). But I don't get how me. Can you clarify?--Praveen:talk 19:49, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You need to have an idea for the licensing requirements of commons, without that knowledge you cannot engage in the outer hemisphere of commons to hit the target as you wish. Tagging a file is benefited to commons unless contributors like you didn't questioned it. A source is definitely required to establish the PD status, without source its only a subject to deletion. You are the only one writing the 'gaming' idea in each talk page where the subject have no relation with that..its better you change yourself to accept the scope of commons with its requirements, and if you got any problem with a user's nature in tagging the files, please report it at the Commons:Administrators' noticeboard‎..rather than pasting it everywhere...as it will fill the talk page with unwanted comments for the subject......Captain......Tälk tö me.. 05:17, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
