Looking for a map with federal borders
[edit]I wonder whether this map is available with the addition of territory or state subdivisions in Australia, Canada and the US? Haiduc 04:53, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- I don't know of one in Wp, but perhaps we can make one. :) E Pluribus Anthony 10:23, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
Islands
[edit]On my (Yug) version, the map had some Indian's islands. If someone can restaure them that's welcome. Yug
Sunken Islands?

SVG version?
[edit]Is there a vectorized version of this available? --Fastfission 18:21, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
- That would be very useful indeed! -- SLB (no) 03:07, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
- just noticed there is this large svg Image:World Map Blank.svg which is not the same but similar --Astrokey44 12:25, 19 June 2006 (UTC) Have tried to make one in illustrator - see Image:BlankMap-World.svg --Astrokey44 05:53, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Country names
[edit]It'd be very usefull if people who use this map as a template add the name of countries they are mentionning in the map. Like if, for example, you're making a map showing the commonwealth countries in blue, put the country names on it. --Dandin1 01:13, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
- Err… Multilinguality? Maps are supposed to be used in much more than just one language, which poses a problem when you add country names to the map. Jon Harald Søby 09:00, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with Søby, there are ones available that you can use as a reference: Image:World map pol 2005 v02.svg and Image:World-map-2004-cia-factbook-large-2m.jpg Astrokey44 06:09, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Changes for maintainer to make
[edit]Lake Balaton is missing, two Canadian islands have a line connecting them, and well the Canadian islands could do with a lot of attention to detail. 195.137.85.17 00:52, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
ownership
[edit]this map isn't public domain!
Why wouldn't it be? 217.225.78.28 16:36, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
the author released it into the public domain --Anonymous101 18:23, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Australia
[edit]Why is there a white dot in the middle of Australia ?? 58.165.70.63 06:17, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- The white parts in the middle of countries are bodies of water. Mclay1 (talk) 10:29, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Source of data for this map?
[edit]Coming from w:Wikipedia:Featured article review/Economy of India/archive2, what dataset/map is used to create this world map (in relation to Commons:Image casebook#Maps & satellite imagery)? This should be stated. Jappalang (talk) 10:12, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- I have been using Wikipedia as a main source (which uses other sources) Spesh531 (talk) 03:06, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
- That does not answer the question: what specific dataset and/or maps were used to create this work? Saying it comes from Wikipedia is akin to saying an image was "from the internet" without any ability for anyone to verify. Jappalang (talk) 01:02, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
- Oh boy. If you followed sources you would find it. I'll cut the searching for you. [1] That link is the source. Ther, you will find the original original source. Spesh531 (talk) 04:14, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
- It would have saved much trouble for everyone if it was simply stated like this. Jappalang (talk) 05:21, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

New Version
[edit]I think the old version of the map was much better. Why has it been changed in fall 2011? --Altaileopard (talk) 13:32, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
