I am assuming this map is meant to show the contemporary postcode areas, but adjusting the abolished postal counties to fit with subsequent changes in post towns? Putting aside the historical revisionism aspects, on a quick inspection there are a number of mistakes. One glaring omission is the lack of any postal counties in Northern Ireland. Another is the lack of the recently-introduced Rutland postal county. Another is the missing postal county border around the Crickhowell post town. This all points to the question of the purpose of the map -- Is it meant to show contemporary boundaries (bearing in mind Royal Mail have said that they are obsolete and unmaintained), or boundaries as they stood at abolition?
