Issues with the Labrador part of the map

[edit]

The interior of Labrador should be marked contested until 1927; Newfoundland only exerted control over the coasts until that point; it was considered part of Rupert's Land at the time of confederation, then a part of the Ungava district; the eastern part of the Quebec-Ungava border was along the Mishtashipu (then the Hamilton, now the Churchill) from 1898 to 1912, from 1912 to 1927 the area was in dispute. The part of Labrador beyond one mile off the coast was only clearly awarded to Newfoundland at this point, no matter how much newfoundlander wikipedians keep reminding everyone obsessively of the province's full name. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.14.170.194 (talk) 01:13, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Missing district of Ungava

[edit]

While only in existence for a short time, District of Ungava was still a district and is mentioned in the Canada census (see this link at library archives canada) Dig deeper (talk) 21:24, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
