is this supposed to represent the Ludovingian / landgraviate coa, in use before 1567, in which case the lion has a crown or is it supposed to he the coa of the modern state, in the 1949 design? As the lion and shield are in the modern (1949) design, it seems like an anachronism to slap a crown on it and use it as medieval coa. --Dbachmann (talk) 11:20, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
Ok, it seems this was just taken from File:Coat of arms of Hesse.svg with the coronet removed, apparently in an attempt to regain the "ancient" coa. I do not think the modern coa is ever used without coronet, so I do not see any conceivable use for this image. --Dbachmann (talk) 11:24, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
- Yes you are right, what do you think to do? Delete both File:Coat of arms of Hesse small.png? ↔ User: Perhelion (Commons: = crap?) 14:29, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
- @Dbachmann It should depict the old version not the actual version. It is not falser as the other version: File:COA family de Landgrafen von Hessen.svg, this is just a standard lion from the French heraldic lab. ↔ User: Perhelion (Commons: = crap?) 21:22, 14 February 2015 (UTC)
