SMS Scharnhorst was only put into service on 24 October 1907. How can there be a painting of her "captain" before that date? This very likely refers instead to the postal steamer Scharnhorst of Norddeutscher Lloyd of 1904. In fact, the insignia on his cap and on his sleeves are the NDL insignia: the crossed key and anchor. --Cosal (talk) 01:41, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
