Could you please fix this?

[edit]

The map represents a Turkic area on south of Van as Aramean. I checked the sources and couldn't find anything to confirm that. Then I noticed that the area is Turkish(and thus should be green). Could anyone fix this mistake? 85.96.234.2 07:45, 8 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Missing languages

[edit]

Hemsin in western Rize province & Artvin and Romeyika Greek in eastern Trabzon province are missing from this map.NeoRetro (talk) 18:21, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a map showing the extent of Romeyka Pontic Greek spoken in the of eastern Trabzon province:

Misleading caption (and the map overall)

[edit]

Excuse me, but in no way this map is '2006-2015'. It's based on desperately outdated data. Have a look at the 'sources' section of the maps you specified as the source. Unfortunately, Dr Michael Izady seems to arbitrary mix data from different epochs without really checking the validity of the result. But the result turns out to be not just approximate, it's outright misleading. The map's caption should at least mention that 1) this map is a contrived guess, 2) something like 'the latter half of the 20th century' instead of '2006-2015'. --Thorn0 (talk) 22:06, 16 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Joint discussion

[edit]

The remarks above are correct. Unfortunately the map is incorrect and not according to any sources provided. Feel free to overwrite the file here or to redistribute it into another file, anything goes. I didn't notice any Aramean speakers in the sources. These post-2006 maps did not indicate any minority languages in Trabzon [1][2] but you can change the sources of course. Nonemansland (talk) 23:55, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Color patter in legend

[edit]

@Chepny: you have reverted the file back to a version where the color pattern does not make any sense with the legend. I'm not sure why you did that, could you explain the reason behind that edit? Ahmet Q. (talk) 23:57, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pinging @Beshogur: as well.Ahmet Q. (talk) 01:10, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Chepny: you have yet again reverted the image without explaining your edit, could you discuss it here? Ahmet Q. (talk) 12:29, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mistakes about Yalova

[edit]

Circassian population in Yalova peninsula is exaggerated in map and definitely wrong. There is also (probably more than Circassians) Manav-Balkan Turks, Georgians, Lazes and Bosniaks in Yalova.--Rime (talk) 21:09, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No Arabs in Şırnak Province

[edit]

As shown at this well-referenced list, only Kurds and Assyrians are present in the province[3]. If this map contains seemingly a lot of errors, it shouldn't be used at all. --Semsûrî (talk) 17:21, 6 June 2022 (UTC) For Hakkâri Province[4], there should be no Turkish dots either. All of it should be green for Kurdish. --Semsûrî (talk) 17:25, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also who is this Muturzikin and why are they used as a reference? --Semsûrî (talk) 17:28, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
