PNG is not the adequate format for this type of graphic. PNG, being palette-based, is suited for graphics with a limited number of colors and JPG is much more suited for photos or paintings. And if, as I suspect, this PNG file is a conversion of the original JPG which it replaces then it is actually worse than that which it replaces as this one is three times the file size with no more information contained.
