This appears to be the 1991 to 2004 version of the flag. I went ahead and uploaded it as Image:Flag of Iraq, 1991-2004.svg. Hopefully someone more artistic than me will be able to upload the current flag here. User:dbenbenn 20:39, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

Looks like it. The bit of Arabic script on the right side is slightly different from Image:Flag of Iraq.png, though I have no idea which is more accurate. User:dbenbenn 19:56, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

I have a certain degree of proficiency in Arabic, and even with the little I know I can assert that this SVG is way more accurate than Image:Flag of Iraq.png. I am still concerned though, I was under the impression that the new (current) flag of Iraq had different proportions? —Gabbe 08:44, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

w:Flag of Iraq doesn't seem to address the issue of flag ratio. The flag that page used to use, w:Image:Iraq flag large.png, is 1:2. This flag at iraqigovernment.org is 3:5. World Flags Collection, Vexilla-Mundi, and Flags of the World all use 2:3, which is what the SVG is currently. User:dbenbenn 18:23, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

What we have to look at is the actual, mass-produced flags that the new Iraqi government has been using consistently since June 28, 2004. These are of a rather long proportion (I would say about 1:2). If we had a good photo of one lying flat one could say for sure.--Pharos 08:26, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Arabic inscription

Could someone fix the Arabic inscription? It appears the gaps between the letters are not as big as we have them now; also it appears the inscription is smaller.

Please stop using the Kufic script of the 2004-2008 version on the 2008-present version of the flag
