Response to Dispute

[edit]

Just a few comments the dispute tag. 1) The artifacts that it complains about were introduced when I converted the original raster image I had prepared to an SVG using InkScape. I'm no power-user of InkScape, and so it's quite possible that I didn't set all the conversion parameters correctly. 2) The faceting is only visible when you expand the image to full screen. Please observe that on the wiki pages where this image is used, the image size is sufficiently reduced to make the faceting nearly (or completely) invisible. 3) This particular image illustrates a very special property of aldohexoses, and its applicability to wiki pages is very narrow. It is unlikely ever to be used on any wiki page that does not also include the surrounding text (or translation thereof) that appears on the en.wikipedia.org page. 4) Anybody who is willing to do the work to prepare a cleaner version of this illustration is welcome, as far as I'm concerned, to overwrite this version, provided, of course, the new version gets all the details correct.

I will check my computer at home to see if I still have the raster version. If so, I would welcome tips on how to do a better job of importing it into InkScape to avoid conversion artifacts. Karl Hahn (talk) 16:48, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
