Why is Greece in green, when frankly their contributions are minor, ans Serbia is grey (Serbia won few important battles (Cer, Kolubara, Macedonian front) --BokicaK (talk) 09:21, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
This file is wrong
[edit]The Netherlands stayed neutral in WWI, yet this map shows them as winners.
Sweden is misspelled "Sweeden"
Northern Ireland
[edit]There was a boundary in Ireland separating en:Northern ireland (still part of the United Kingdom) from the rest of Ireland, which should be labelled "red - New Country". 188.221.129.72 00:07, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
Multiple errors that need fixing
[edit]Several areas of this map are erroneous.
- Bosnia and Herzegovina was part of prewar Austria-Hungary and should be colored as such.
- The portions of southeastern Yugoslavia that were part of prewar Bulgaria should, as such, be colored in Bulgarian beige.
- Romania, Serbia, and Montenegro all fought for the Entente; as such, the portion of Romania within its prewar borders and the portions of Yugoslavia within the prewar borders of Serbia and Montenegro should be colored in victor green.
- The entire Yugoslav-Albanian, Yugoslav-Greek, and Iranian-Iraqi borders, the unchanged approximately-three-fifths of the Yugoslav-Bulgarian border, the portion of the Yugoslav-Romanian border corresponding to the prewar Romanian-Serbian border, the German-Czechoslovak border except for the short segment at its extreme eastern end which was moved south, the portion of the German-Polish border forming the northeastern boundary of Upper Silesia, and the portions of the German-Polish and German-Lithuanian borders forming the southeastern and eastern boundaries of East Prussia are all unchanged prewar borders, and, as such, should be marked in preexisting-border grey rather than new-border red.
- Bessarabia should not be outlined in red new borders when none of the other contested areas get this treatment.
- There should be a red new border in Ireland, separating the Irish Free State (which ceased to be part of the United Kingdom in December 1922) from Northern Ireland.
- The label for Ireland should be in new-country red rather than preexisting-country black.
Additionally, a couple other aspects of the map could probably use tweaking.
- "Ireland" would probably be better listed as "Irish Free State" at this point in its history.
- The Irish Free State should probably be given a color distinct from victor green (perhaps emerald green?), to signify that (as with the areas formerly part of the Russian Empire) it broke away from one of the Entente powers.
