Macedonia

[edit]

The situation with (the country which calls itself) the Republic of Macedonia is unclear. I'm not sure what color to give it. I first had it as "Promised Membership", the same category as Georgia and Ukraine. Today I've moved it to Intensified Dialogue, the same category as Bosnia and Montenegro. It invitation is currently blocked by Greece for the name issue. What should it be? Should it be its own color, for "Membership Action Plan"? Should Croatia and Albania be in the "Membership Action Plan" category? A MAP category might replace "Promised Membership" for Georgia and Ukraine in December.--Patrickneil 23:32, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

North Macedonia needs blue for being a member in 2020 see tweet by Jens Stoltenberg of yesterday. --2A02:908:C3B:9420:8C85:457A:D027:7297 13:09, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Map should be updated!

[edit]

The map should be updated; Ukraine on the map should be colored red, because NATO membership is not Ukraine's goal anymore. A.h. king (talk) 10:24, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're sure? --2A02:908:C32:3940:41AE:7FE3:8754:7BBC 02:17, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading Colours

[edit]

I know maps of NATO and the former Warsaw Pact being in blue and red, and this maps looks like a clone of those maps. Could the countries with "Membership not goal" be coloured grey or something. --84.151.22.42 18:00, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, though honestly, I don't recommend using this map at all. The 2008 declaration of a "promised invitation" for Ukraine and Georgia misses much of what has happened since. There are other maps to use in its place, like File:Major NATO affiliations in Europe.svg or File:NATO affiliations in Europe.svg. If someone does change the color, which isn't hard to do on the SVG, just be sure to update the 10 or so articles that still use this file.-- Patrick, oѺ 18:05, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Finnland and Sweden

[edit]

Therefor that there are intensive discussions in the politics and societies the countries cannot be couloured red any longer! --2A02:908:C32:3940:41AE:7FE3:8754:7BBC 02:01, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

missing countries

[edit]

Why there are some coundtries missing? I'm missing Syria, Israel f.e. I know that thode coundtries aren't part of the NATO, but Russia ( Kein Beitritt geplant) or Cyprus (Haltung zum Beitritt unbekannt) for example aren't members too and they are part of the map. It looks like teh world ends south-east of Turkey and there is only the open sea. Those maps are looking better: [1] [2] [3] [4] 93.237.122.34 13:00, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Moldova

[edit]

[Moldova is constitutionally neutral](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moldova%E2%80%93NATO_relations), so it should be marked red. 2A00:23C7:6B88:1901:84F9:AB63:83A1:CC3 21:46, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
