Initial tag: Per Commons:Deletion requests/File:Coat of Arms of the Netherlands.png, based on the work of Piets Bulsma, who is still alive.

This file was 16 feb 2013 22:38‎ nominated for the same reason, the file was kept. There is no copyright on coats of arms, whatever some people may think, how many times we must argue about that? I'm not willing to put more energie in this any longer, if removed, so be it. Not my loss. --Henk Boelens (talk) 11:06, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As Henk Boelens already said: no copyright on Dutch coats of arms, only on the fysical drawings, not on the designs. This means you can use the blazon (text) or even the drawing itself and make your own version. If it would have been illegal to show the coat of arms: this site wouldn't have it as Heraldry of the World has contacts with municipalities and the government.
(I've written over 200 articles about coats of arms in the Netherlands... so I think I have some knowladge there) Dqfn13 (talk) 11:43, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The physical drawing was recreated in this file, as I showed in the tag, Dqfn13. Heraldry of the World doesn't even mention a source or a license for the file. It's hardly an example for Wikipedia in this case. Lemmens, Tom (talk) 13:37, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That site doesn't show a source because they use the Hoge Raad van Adel as source, they have contact as the HRvA even writes on their own site: ... all coats of arms, including the former, of municipallities see: www.ngw.nl. See the header Publiekrechtelijke lichamen at http://www.hogeraadvanadel.nl/wapens.php Sure it doesn't talk about the countrie, provinces and such... but the municipalities are outnumbering all other COAs.
