Hercules Alfa star (and Serpentis Epsilon)

[edit]

I think it is unusual to connect Hercules Alfa (and Serpentis Epsilon) to Ophiouchus. This has been fixed in the Hercules Constellation Map[1].

From the project that was used to generate the image: "PP3's constellation lines origin

I created the lines after my fancy. The Atlas für Himmelsbeobachter1 was an important source of inspiration though."[2]

"PP3's boundary data origin

It's the Catalogue of Constellation Boundary Data by Davenhall and Leggett. I had to fix some bugs though, because the Ophiuchus/Serpens region was flawed. Additionally, the original data has peculiarities because it tries to be useful for bounded maps, e.g. in Mercator projection. I removed the resulting spurious lines. "[3]

This could be fixed in the SVG-version? --Pasixxxx (talk) 16:59, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
