Scottandrewhutchins notes that the illustration might come from "Scot's Book of Divils".

The image is actually one of Louis Breton's illustrations for the 1868 edition of Collin de Plancy's Dictionnaire Infernal.

If "Scot" means Reginald Scot, I must confess I have never come across any reference to his Book of Divils -- as far as I know, his only two books were The Discoverie of Witchcraft (1584) and A Perfite Platforme of a Hoppe Garden (1574). A later edition of Discoverie might have had Breton illustrations added, but I know of no such edition.

I would like to emend the Orobas.jpg page. I'll hold off until next week in case someone raises an objection.

I believe the image comes from Scot's Book of Divils, which is at least a century old. Scottandrewhutchins 23:02, 11 July 2006 (UTC)Scottandrewhutchins[reply]
