Some points:

  • Is the "German Empire" really the proper way to refer to Germany during WWII? I thought it remained a republic throughout the war, it should probably be called simply Germany.
  • It would be nice to have different shades of blue for Germany itself (with the territories that were formally annexed like Austria, Luxembourg etc.), its allies and the occupied territories.
  • Great Britain and Northern Ireland should probably just be the United Kingdom, it's simpler.
  • The territories associated with Britain should say (U.K.) instead.
  • A distnction should be made between Allied countries, their colonies (in the middle east) and unilaterally occupied areas (Iceland, Faroes).

Finland as an attacker

[edit]

On the map, Finland is depicted as an attacker in much larger scale than it actually was. Finland was attacked by USSR and en:Continuation War was just a result of this attack. In fact, it did not have much to do with German empire except the fact that Finland had to become an ally of Nazi Germany if it wanted to defend its own country. Most of the land, here depicted as attacked by Finns, was a part of Finland before the war.

Finland is marked as occupied by Germany, this was never the case.

Iceland

[edit]

Iceland is in no way a dependency of the United Kingdom, and nor were some of the Asian states shown.

Yes. Iceland and the Faroe Islands were British occupied territories, not British dependencies or possessions or even allies. This needs to be fixed. Haukurth 23:59, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

[edit]

Allies and Soviet Union territories should be in different colors; the term "Moscow territory" is wrong (Grand Duchy of Moscow did not exist for centuries... :). If there is a division between Occupied France and Vichy France, w:General Government (occupied but not annexed Poland) should be marked as well.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 19:03, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Colors

[edit]

Could the colors be improved? Or at least changed? Neutral countries are white, while all water is off-white? And the German occupied lands are blue, though they're traditionally red, while the allied countries are red, though they're traditionally blue. Could we reverse those and pick another color for the neutral countries? Thewolfchild (talk) 02:56, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
