Sri Lanka

[edit]

Along with other corrections, @KN 940: removed Sri Lanka, claiming that technically it was secular. @Svenskbygderna: then reverted that edit, under the false edit-summary "modified stroke". So when I added names to the countries (hard to tell which island is which in the Pacific otherwise), I restored KN 940's edit. But I don't know the situation -- pinging recent contributors @Grundafjarðarkirkja, Paul 012, NordNordWest, and Rowanwindwhistler: . Kwamikagami (talk) 21:20, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That is nothing I can tell anything about it. NNW 09:58, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
When I made that good faith edit, the WP page "State religion" had a citation to the court case Ashik v. Bandula and Others, which explicitly says that "It has to be firmly borne in mind that Sri Lanka is a secular State". However, that citation has since been removed from the page, and an English translation of the 2015 Sri Lankan constitution says that "The Republic of Sri Lanka shall give to Buddhism the foremost place" (emphasis added). It should be noted that English is not an official language of Sri Lanka, and I am not a speaker of Sinhala or Tamil. Therefore, I do not know what is correct either. Buddhism color

[edit]

Buddhism is currently displayed as gold, which isn't as prominent as the other colors and doesn't show up very well at lower resolutions. Should it be changed to something more visible? Thebiguglyalien (talk) 21:59, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tunisia

[edit]

What about Tunisia? Aren't they secular now? -GogoLion (talk) 13:00, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's not that simple. M.Bitton (talk) 16:11, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
