I've created a set of imagemaps to use in place of these raw images, with hovertext and links to articles about each status: w:Template:IUCN 3.1 navmap . Unfortunately, there's no way to store an imagemap on commons the way one stores image files, so you'd have to recreate such imagemaps on each project where you want to use them. –SJ+ 04:53, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
