Inappropriate image

Although almost universally recognized as the speech symbol, an image of sound-waves leaving the mouth excludes sign and tactile languages from representation. This is especially noteworthy with the many manual languages found across Canada: ASL, LSQ, MSL, Hand Talk, Atgangmuurngniq, Plateau Sign Language, Ktunaxa Sign Language, Oneida Sign Language, and Protactile. I understand this is a very small thing, but images as such play into the stereotype that human languages are solely oral in nature. Perhaps an update could use something like "i / ᐃ" embossed onto the maple leaf, much like how Google Translate switched from "Google Translate" to "A / 文" (now "G / 文")? -Danachos (talk) 06:57, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
