Summary

[edit]

The Advertising Record, recorded by Len Spencer circa 1906.

The recording begins, “I am the Edison phonograph …”, and explains the novel benefits of the phonograph from the first person perspective of the machine. A very early landmark of advertising in modern media, this was played widely in shops to entice customers.
